Charaid is a portmanteau of "char" (short for character) and "aid" (to help or assist), with a playful nod to "charade." The name reflects the app's use of visually similar Unicode characters.

About the Creator

I built Charaid as a simple way to explore and style text with Unicode lookalike characters while keeping the experience private and easy to use.

The website will remain free to use, free from ads, and respectful of your privacy.

Licenses

Charaid is built with no third-party libraries. The one bundled asset is the wordmark font, UnifrakturCook, used under the SIL Open Font License. Full details are on the Licenses page.
